On September eighteenth, a violent encounter unfolded on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach that would shock the community. According to police reports, Tajha Soplato Anderson allegedly attacked a woman over a missing hoodie in what authorities describe as an extraordinarily brutal assault.
The attack was particularly vicious. Anderson allegedly smashed the woman's face with an e-bike battery and burned her skin during the assault, leaving her permanently disfigured according to multiple reports. The victim sustained severe injuries that required extensive medical treatment.
Immediately following the attack, Anderson fled the scene and remained at large for nearly three weeks, successfully evading law enforcement despite an active search. Anderson has a documented history of prior run-ins with Horry County law enforcement, including previous drug-related arrests and resisting arrest charges.
The break in the case came on October seventh when the victim spotted Anderson riding an e-bike near Highway Fifteen and Ellington Street. She immediately notified police of his location.
When officers attempted a traffic stop, Anderson refused to comply and sped away on the e-bike. The chase was short-lived as Anderson crashed the vehicle and attempted to continue his escape on foot. Officers quickly apprehended him before he could flee further.
