Welcome to Arrest Stories. A forty-four-year-old substitute teacher was arrested at a Jacksonville middle school after being found with fentanyl and drug paraphernalia in an employee bathroom. Here's what may have happened.
On January fifteenth, staff at Oceanway Middle School in Jacksonville alerted a school safety officer to a possible medical emergency in an employee-only bathroom. School personnel had noticed a strong burning odor coming from the restroom, prompting concern about what was happening inside.
A witness discovered Jessica Muncy slumped over on a toilet in an unlocked stall. Muncy was fully clothed but appeared unsteady, with a purse positioned in her lap. The witness had reported a burning smell emanating from the bathroom area before finding Muncy in this condition.
When a school resource officer made contact with Muncy, they observed aluminum foil that had been laid out on the toilet paper holder. A search of Muncy's purse uncovered additional aluminum foil, cut straws, and small baggies containing blue and white powder substances.
The blue powder discovered at the scene field-tested presumptive positive for fentanyl. This discovery led to Muncy facing charges for having drug paraphernalia, possession of fentanyl with the intent to sell, and destroying evidence.
Law enforcement conducted a thorough investigation of the scene, with witnesses reporting seeing officers search Muncy's vehicle in the school parking lot. One observer noted, "We were curious as to what was going on, so we just kind of watched, but they definitely checked the lady's car. They lifted the hood of the trunk, everything, and then they came out with a bag of stuff and then left."
School officials emphasized student safety remained their primary concern. "The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority, and I am grateful that no students were involved," one official stated.
Muncy was arrested on January fifteenth following the discovery of the substances and paraphernalia in the employee bathroom at Oceanway Middle School.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
