NFL STARS BROTHER ARRESTED HOURS BEFORE PLAYOFF GAME

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A twenty-year-old college football player and brother of an NFL star was arrested on drunk driving charges in Iowa just hours before a major playoff game. Here's what may have happened.

On Sunday morning, January eleventh, two thousand twenty-five, Beckett DeJean found himself in custody of the Ida County Sheriff's Office in Iowa. The twenty-year-old was booked into jail at one zero nine a.m. local time on a first offense operating while intoxicated charge.

DeJean, a redshirt freshman defensive back for the University of South Dakota Coyotes football team, was processed on the misdemeanor charge in the early morning hours. According to jail records, he was released later that same day at ten forty-five a.m.

The timing of the arrest proved particularly notable as it occurred just hours before DeJean's older brother Cooper was scheduled to take the field for the Philadelphia Eagles in their NFC wild-card playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers that Sunday afternoon. Cooper DeJean currently serves as a cornerback for the Eagles.

Beckett DeJean has been involved with the South Dakota Coyotes football program, though his playing time has been limited. In two thousand twenty-four, he did not appear in any games but instead competed on the scout team. The previous year, he also participated on the scout team and in practices throughout the season.

First offense operating while intoxicated charges in Iowa are classified as misdemeanors but can carry significant consequences including fines, license suspension, and possible jail time. The charge represents DeJean's first known encounter with law enforcement on such matters.

The arrest took place in Ida County, Iowa, where DeJean was taken into custody by local sheriff's deputies in the early morning hours before being transported to the county jail facility for booking and processing.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
