Welcome to Arrest Stories. Memphis rapper Finesse2Tymes was arrested on drug charges in East Texas and has publicly accused fellow rapper MoneyBagg Yo of involving law enforcement in his case. Here's what may have happened.
On January fifteenth, thirty-three-year-old Ricky Hampton, known professionally as Finesse2Tymes, was taken into custody and booked in Rusk County, Texas on multiple drug charges according to the county inmate database. Hampton was arrested alongside his girlfriend, Halle Buckingham, also known as Shugga, during what appears to have been a traffic stop in the area.
Buckingham was charged with tampering with evidence and a weapon charge in addition to drug-related offenses similar to Hampton's charges. Her bond was set at five hundred twenty-six thousand dollars, and she remains in custody on what officials describe as a federal warrant.
This marks the second time in recent months that Hampton has faced drug charges in Texas. He was previously arrested along with Buckingham in Smith County, Texas on September twentieth on drug charges. Approximately one month later, Hampton was arrested again in Harris County, Texas on multiple drug possession charges.
Following his release from the Rusk County facility, Hampton returned to social media on Thursday afternoon to address his arrest. In Instagram Story posts, he made accusations against Memphis rapper MoneyBagg Yo, stating quote Bagg put the police on me end quote.
Hampton continued his social media statements, writing quote Y'all be wanting me to stay in jail so bad. I don't carry nun but some Za and a yerk or two. Yaw nygas some real haters end quote. In additional posts, he directed further accusations at MoneyBagg Yo, writing quote And bagg u know I know the truth end quote.
Hampton also referenced his girlfriend's continued incarceration, posting quote I ain't gone lie, I'm sick w out u Shug. On god don't nobody know like her end quote.
The rapper has since been released on bond while Buckingham remains in custody on the substantial bond amount.
