MANS BACKYARD TARGET PRACTICE LANDS TWO STRANGERS IN HOSPITAL

Welcome to Arrest Stories. A forty-year-old man was arrested after two people were injured in what police are calling an accidental shooting at a Kroger store in Warren County. Here's what may have happened.

On Friday evening around seven thirty p.m., gunfire erupted at the Kroger located at five thousand seven zero five State Route forty-eight in Maineville. Two victims were struck by gunfire while inside the store's lobby area, also known as the vestibule. Both individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital in stable condition.

According to Hamilton Township Police, the shooting originated from outside the store. A preliminary investigation indicates the victims were injured inside the lobby or vestibule area of the store, but the gunfire came from outside the store, likely from a nearby property.

Police determined that Jayson Hall was shooting at his home when a stray bullet traveled from his property and struck the Kroger store. The bullet went through the glass sliding door at the entrance of the store, where it struck the two victims who were in the vestibule area.

One witness described the chaotic scene, stating "It was all of sixty seconds that I had turned around and walked away that it had happened. I turned around, and I saw the lady who was standing behind me. I saw that her leg was bleeding." The witness added that folks who were inside the store shopping had no idea what had occurred.

Officers responded in full force to the scene and evacuated the store. Hamilton Township Police made an arrest shortly after the incident, taking Hall into custody. Police emphasized their commitment to pursuing such incidents to the fullest extent when making an apprehension.

The investigation revealed that someone was firing rounds outside of their home nearby, and one of those bullets made its way to the Kroger store. Police classified the shooting as accidental, noting that Hall was firing from his residential property when the stray bullet struck the store.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
