Welcome to Arrest Stories. A former Edmonds College physics professor was arrested in Bremerton after allegedly attempting to meet someone he believed was an eleven-year-old child for sexual purposes. Heres what may have happened.

On December seventeenth, twenty twenty-five, forty-four-year-old Houston Curry Wade was taken into custody in Bremerton, Washington, following an undercover investigation. Wade had been a part-time onsite faculty member teaching Physics and Astronomy at Edmonds College until twenty twenty-two.

According to police reports, Wade used the screen name AuthorityFigure on the Hush app, posting "The best part about teaching is the students." He also provided the username pulse_of_life_ on Kik with the display name The Captain. Beginning on August twenty-ninth, twenty twenty-five, Wade allegedly began communicating with someone he believed was an eleven-year-old girl, who was actually an undercover decoy.

Over approximately one hundred ten days, Wade and the undercover decoy chatted regularly. Police describe these communications as sexually graphic in nature. Throughout the conversations, Wade allegedly agreed to meet with the supposed child to act upon the graphic actions they had discussed.

On the day of his arrest, Wade stopped at the Quality Inn in Silverdale en route to the meeting location. He had allegedly booked this hotel room in preparation for the encounter. Police state that Wade set up various sex toys and bondage restraints in the room.

Upon arriving at the agreed meeting location in East Park in Bremerton, Wade was arrested. According to charging documents, "Houston Wade committed the crime of communication with a minor for immoral purposes when he knowingly communicated with a person he believed to be an eleven-year-old girl, using grooming techniques to present various sex acts he hoped to perform with her at a future date."

Wade faces charges including attempted rape of a child in the first degree and communication with a minor for immoral purposes. His bail was set at seven hundred fifty thousand dollars.

Edmonds College released a statement saying, "We are deeply concerned and disturbed by these allegations. The safety and well-being of our campus community remain our highest priority."
