FLORIDA TEENS TIKTOK CHALLENGE ENDS WITH ONE VIEWERS PHONE CALL

Welcome to Arrest Stories. An eighteen-year-old Florida man was arrested after attempting a TikTok challenge that involved staying overnight in a closed Walmart store while live streaming to his followers. Here's what may have happened.

On January thirteenth, twenty twenty-six, Isaac Matthew Hurley entered a Walmart store on South McCall Road in Englewood, Florida, at approximately ten fifteen in the evening while the store was still open to customers. Hurley was attempting what's known as the twenty-four-hour Fort Overnight Challenge, a TikTok trend where participants try to remain hidden inside retail stores overnight.

According to police reports, Hurley planned to stay inside the megastore for a full twenty-four hours while live streaming his adventure to TikTok followers, hoping to earn money based on the number of views he could generate. Security cameras captured Hurley entering the store around ten fifteen Tuesday night.

After the store closed for the night at eleven o'clock, Hurley positioned himself in the dog bed section where he intended to spend the night. He was actively live streaming to TikTok when a store worker discovered him inside the closed business shortly after closing time. A TikTok viewer who was watching Hurley's live stream called authorities to report the incident.

Deputies responded to the scene and located Hurley in the dog bed section of the store. He was taken into police custody by midnight, having been inside the store for less than an hour after closing.

During his live stream, Hurley stated, "I do an overnight challenge in Walmart because I'm homeless. Make sure you follow me and everything like that. Make sure you like this. I mean, that's what younger kids are doing nowadays to be popular."

A law enforcement official commented on the incident, saying, "I'm not sure why people buy into these social media challenges when they are clearly encouraging you to violate the law. Why aren't any of these challenges aimed at making the world better? Instead, we are busy arresting people for making poor choices just to get views and likes."

Hurley faces charges related to trespassing with bond set at one thousand five hundred dollars.

All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
