Welcome to Arrest Stories. A forty-five-year-old Florida man was arrested at an apartment complex across from Daytona International Speedway after allegedly sending threatening videos featuring gunfire to multiple individuals. Here's what may have happened.
On February eleventh, twenty twenty-six, Adrian Morales sent a minute-and-a-half-long video to a man he knew in Pierson, Florida. In the video, a man can be heard saying "This is what's in store" while cursing and firing off a gun. The sheriff's office later shared twenty-eight seconds of the roughly minute-and-a-half-long video, with the unshared portion reportedly containing repeated statements that he doesn't care and he's done.
The Pierson man who received the video told authorities that Morales had been exhibiting signs of mental instability and making unusual statements. This wasn't Morales' only concerning communication - he had also sent aggressive messages to NASCAR's sales director after the racing organization did not grant his sponsorship request.
On February twelfth, twenty twenty-six, the Volusia Sheriff's Office Domestic Security Unit responded to the Pierson man's home regarding the threatening video from Morales. In the video, Morales allegedly fired a volley from an AR-fifteen rifle while making threats. The video was accompanied by statements including "This is what's gonna happen. Got all the sheriff's department, DEA, FBI, and the rest."
The timing raised additional concerns for law enforcement, as these threats occurred just days before the Daytona Five Hundred race. On February fourteenth, twenty twenty-six, deputies tracked down and arrested Adrian Morales at the Icon One Daytona apartments, located directly across from Daytona International Speedway. The apartment complex sits approximately a three-minute drive from the racing venue.
Morales was taken into custody without incident. His proximity to the Speedway was particularly concerning to investigators given his past grievances and aggressive messages to NASCAR executives. Morales is being held without bond.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
