Welcome to Arrest Stories. Twenty-four-year-old Franky Venegas was arrested on New Year's Eve in Naples, Florida on drug paraphernalia charges and is being held without bond due to an outstanding case. Here's what may have happened.
On January thirty-first, twenty twenty-six, Franky Venegas was booked into the Collier County Jail in Naples, Florida on one count of possession of drug paraphernalia late Wednesday night. Venegas posed for a fresh mug shot displaying visible face tattoos upon his arrival at the facility.
The twenty-four-year-old is being held on a twenty-four hour hold without bond because he was already out on bond from a separate February arrest involving firearm charges. That earlier case stems from an incident in February twenty twenty-five when officers stopped a yellow Corvette in Naples after it allegedly ran a stop sign.
During that February traffic stop, officers discovered a baggie of suspected Oxycodone on the passenger side floorboard, which Venegas denied owning. When questioned about the substance, Venegas told officers "I had a prescription for it that he did not have with him."
The search of the vehicle revealed additional concerning items. Police found a brown MGM handbag containing a blue spray painted handgun with no serial numbers, a cut straw, and credit cards bearing Venegas' name. Officers also discovered another straw with a white powdery substance in the center console of the Corvette.
As a result of that February incident, Venegas was charged with delivering, possessing, or selling a firearm with an altered serial number. He had been released on bond for those charges when the latest drug paraphernalia arrest occurred on New Year's Eve.
The timing of this most recent arrest means Venegas began twenty twenty-six in custody at the Collier County Jail, where he remains held without bond due to the twenty-four hour hold connected to his previous case.
