Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-seven-year-old man stands accused of brutally beheading a motel worker with a machete in Dallas after becoming enraged over a communication misunderstanding about a broken washing machine. Here's what may have happened.
On Wednesday morning at nine twenty-six, what started as a routine day at a Dallas motel turned into an unthinkable tragedy. Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, who was living at the motel, allegedly became upset when victim Nagamallaiah was cleaning a room with a co-worker and speaking to that co-worker for translation help regarding a broken washing machine.
According to police reports, Cobos-Martinez became furious that Nagamallaiah was using someone to "translate the communication instead of speaking to Cobos-Martinez directly." Surveillance video captured the horrifying sequence of events that followed.
Officials state that "Video shows the suspect then exited the motel room and produced a machete from his person and started cutting and stabbing the complainant multiple times." The victim ran screaming toward the motel office where his wife and son were located. When family members tried to intervene, Cobos-Martinez allegedly pushed them away and continued his relentless attack.
During the assault, police say Cobos-Martinez paused to rifle through Nagamallaiah's pockets, stealing his cell phone and key card. One witness described the scene, saying "He just kept hitting him and hitting until he decapitated him. I could not believe that anybody would do another human being that way."
The violence didn't end there. Officials report that "Cobos-Martinez did the unthinkable and proceeded to kick the head around like a soccer ball" before placing it in a dumpster. Police found Cobos-Martinez near the scene, covered in blood and still armed with the machete. In a recorded interview, he allegedly admitted to using the weapon to kill Nagamallaiah.
Cobos-Martinez now faces capital murder charges and is being held without bond.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
