Welcome to Arrest Stories. A thirty-three-year-old Alabama mother with a violent criminal history has been arrested and charged with false reporting after police say her story about her missing two-year-old daughter contains multiple inconsistencies. Here's what may have happened.
On February sixteenth at three ten in the morning, Adrienne Reid contacted police in Enterprise, Alabama to report her daughter Genesis Nova Reid missing. Reid told investigators that she discovered her two-year-old daughter missing from her bed and found the front door of their Apache Drive apartment open, claiming the toddler had walked out on her own.
Police immediately launched a search of the surrounding area, but the initial efforts produced no information about the child's whereabouts. However, as detectives continued their investigation over the following twenty-four hours, they identified what they called inconsistencies in the information provided by Reid.
According to authorities, neighbors and police say Genesis had not been seen for several weeks prior to the reported disappearance, contradicting Reid's timeline. Police stated they do not have a confirmed date when Genesis was last seen but have verified at least one sighting within the past thirty days.
Investigators determined Reid's account was fabricated. Officials stated, "We know through the investigation over the last twenty-four hours that her story is false. Now we have to focus on how to find Genesis and bring her home."
Police records reveal Reid has a documented history of violence. On January third, two thousand seventeen, Officer Zeneth Glenn responded to a domestic violence call where Reid had used a sharp instrument to cut her mother multiple times. The victim suffered cuts to both arms, with one arm sustaining a five-inch wound. Officer Glenn applied a makeshift tourniquet to control bleeding from the more severely injured arm before paramedics transported Reid's mother to the hospital. Reid was subsequently convicted of domestic violence.
Authorities emphasized that "Adrienne Reid is the only person who knows where Genesis Reid is" and "the person in Coffee County Jail is the only person who knows where Genesis Reid is."
Reid is currently being held without bond on false reporting charges as the search for Genesis continues.
All suspects presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Do not take this report as factual, always verify facts. Thanks for watching Arrest Stories.
